scientists create electronic plants

Researchers from the Laboratory for Organic Electronics, led by Professor Magnus Berggren, modified a plant so that it produed both analog and digital circuits. The image above shows that the researchers observed the two processes - the way electronics send/process electronic signals and the way plants send and use ions and growth hormones - to learn how to convert the plant's signals into electronic signals. They now believe that they've created full-functioning transistors out of these plants.

future tech: "power plants" - place sensors and use energy manufactured in the chlorophyll, possibly new, green materials. naturally-occuring, technologically advaned systems.
